A comprehensive refurbishment of this lovely Georgian house included remodelling the kitchen, the laundry, study, boot room and most of the bedroom wardrobes. Our client like the layout of her current kitchen in her large Georgian Farmhouse- but it wasn’t working as a place to cook. She wanted a user friendly and safe place for children and grandchildren, to be included in the preparation of meals within the space and an office space in the kitchen and for the style to flow into the rest of the large open plan space. Our involvement was extensive and Patrick reworked the existing scheme and improved it’s poor ergonomics. To allow the younger members of the family to be involved in cooking, an island was central to the design. The layout gave space for prepping and mainstream cooking. In addition a bespoke work station unit was created which could be used as a casual office area or for media. The brief also included the boot room, laundry, breakfast room and a number of built in wardrobes emphasising the design flow between each room. Boot room was adapted from an existing room so that outside coats, boots and countryside paraphernalia could be better organised. Our client wanted to disguise the apparent purpose of the laundry. With this in mind, the appliances and heating system were concealed and additional covered storage created. The Breakfast room was linked directly to the kitchen and cabinets were made to house the toaster, coffee maker and day use crockery: all behind doors when not in use!

“Just a brief message to thank you and your team of professionals, with a special mention for James!Jo and I are delighted with our new kitchen, which looks fantastic. You had listened carefully to understand our requirements, then your attention to detail at our regular planning or update visits, and even meeting us at the granite worktop supplier, were all very much appreciated. For what has been a key project during our property refurbishment, we needed the extra care and attention you had promised, and delivered.”
