Our clients wanted a bespoke kitchen and a practical island in light greys and whites as part of an inspired makeover of an extremely well converted dairy.Working in rural cottages is never straightforward. Older building techniques and time serve to create a unique challenge that require master designers and craftsman to deliver harmonious but thoroughly practical solutions. In this project we took two small spaces and combined them into a single casual dining and entertaining area and linked the kitchen with a new formal dining suite. Simplicity was the key here with pale cabinetry and Silestone work surfaces. The addition of an island with a bar area subtly divided the prep areas from the dining areas.
With continuity of design expression and materials throughout, we created a unique and peaceful environment using calming colours, light coloured quartz work surfaces and simple, unfussy fascia to create the perception of a larger overall space. The two underused rooms where converted into one, providing a spacious kitchen and dining area ideally suited to contemporary living.

“Patrick and his team were fantastic. Despite the long drives from their office to our home, the project proceeded smoothly and promptly. His knowledge of what would work and what would not was very valuable, and his understanding of our particular needs and wishes was total. Two years on, our kitchen and boot room look as splendid as they did the day the work was finished, and design, materials and workmanship have all stood the tests of time and vigorous family use. We are delighted with the result and would highly recommend Patrick Porter kitchens.”
