LIGHT INDUSTRIAL STYLE IN EDWARDIAN BATH TOWN HOUSE

Home / Case Studies / LIGHT INDUSTRIAL STYLE IN EDWARDIAN BATH TOWN HOUSE

We were commissioned to create something rather different with its emphasis to be on an inherited industrial style, but it also had to be a practical family kitchen. Our wonderful clients with eclectic tastes, had appointed Woodhouse and Law as their principal interior designers.

To achieve our design brief we remained faithful to a traditional construction programme to ensure solid, long lasting kitchen furniture. Therefore, the design emphasis was on the facia as these are made from dark stained, rough hewn European oak sealed with contemporary lacquer for durability and practicality. The panels within the doors were made from pre- rusted perforated mild steel, chemically aged and sealed with another varnish. The principal feature of the scheme is a large free-standing housekeepers cupboard of the same style., with drawers and fully adjustable shelving.

The shelving unit was constructed from industrial preaged gas pipes, distressed painted heavy duty softwood planks to coordinate with the quartz work surfaces.
