Fitted Furniture by Design

Discover more about us by giving us a call or visiting us at our showroom  at The Barn, between Box and Bath. Following an initial fact finding discussion we will make an appointment to visit your home or discuss your plans with you.

With a designers eye Patrick will listen and make suggestions as to how various alternative schemes will work. These will be based on your ideas as to how the room needs to work for you. Patrick will also take note of key architectural features, both modern and traditional, which can be echoed in the design of the bespoke kitchen units. From measurements taken, photographs and sketches, we will put a series of drawings together which reflect these initial conversations and provide a visual starting point to the design process.

At this stage we will also explain how we coordinate our activities with others involved in the project; builders, and their sub contractors and other specialist trades, to ensure all runs smoothly.

Now we have a first set of drawings we will sit down with you and start to fine tune the design. We will analyse the layout in depth, adding or taking away items as necessary.

Choices of materials, colours and the all important design detail that make your project unique to you will be a key part of this discussion.

Build and Installation
Together we will set an installation date, inherently flexible, particularly if building works are involved!

Patrick will project manage the installation. The installation programme generally includes what is termed second fix electrical and water connections. This means connection to existing or new supplies close to the relevant appliance. If you are not engaging the services of a builder, or specialist trades and require first fix provision, that is new wiring and pipe work, we are happy to undertake this on your behalf.

Once the installation is complete we will do final check with you and make sure you are happy with all that has been done.

Technical Stuff
Patrick Porter kitchen furniture is made out of  solid timber and 18mm Birch plywood. Drawer boxes are solid hardwood, with dovetailed joints and soft close runners as standard. For painted curved door panels MDF is used as it is very stable and takes paint finishes very well.

In essence we are building a kitchen which will last for decades and provide exceptional service and pleasure; this excellence will outlast cheaper alternatives time and time again.
